Weorod made a fantastic addition to our open day. Their passion and enthusiasm for the period was obvious and I was impressed with their extensive knowledge. The whole team were great with visitors of all ages and their displays and demonstrations added something really special to the event - they brought the site to life.
Laura Joyner, Community & Education Officer, Wessex Archaeology
You were brilliant! You were flexible and helpful throughout the booking process and you did everything promised on the day with a friendly and welcoming attitude and with knowledge and flair. You looked really impressive set up in the grounds and visitors loved it. Despite blazing sun you carried on smiling and did us proud. We will have you back and will welcome you to come and see our collection whenever you are in the area.
Owain Hughes, Learning Project Officer, The Salisbury Museum
The combination of short informative displays in the main arena plus the working demonstrations and other exhibits in the row of awnings throughout the afternoon made for a varied and interesting package. A number of people attending the festival commented on how interesting and informative the re-enactors were and how engaging they were with children. It was also nice that they highlighted the local aspects of the period.
Doug Stammers, Organiser, Kings Somborne Beer & Music Festival
Over recent years, Weorod have attended several of our annual St George's Day Festivals in Stubbington. We have always welcomed their attendance as we know that they add so much to our Events and the visitors always seem happy to watch their performances and to learn about life in the distant past.
Mike Shipley, Fundraising & Activities, Crofton Lions Club
Weorod are not just your average costumed interpreters. Their depth of knowledge of the history of the period is astonishing, and their commitment to correct textiles, materials and even food is impressive.
We were most impressed by the strong connections with local archaeological evidence reflected in the replica artefacts and in the living history interpretation, which underlined the entertaining spectacle with an accessible and engaging educational foundation.
Tom de Wit - Curator - Westbury Manor Museum, Fareham
I was really pleased with Weorod's professionalism and their display of crafts. There was a good variety of replica artefacts and the interpreters were friendly and approachable. I was really impressed with what you offered and I would recommend you to my colleagues within the department to book you again in the future.

Weorod communicate well with the public and enable people to visualise what it was like to live in this country in the past.

Although a relatively new group Weorod have shown themselves to be a wonderful addition to the multi-period shows EventPlan organises.
Well researched, authentic and historically accurate their living history displays are both informative and engaging providing the public with an introduction to the many crafts and skills of the time period. Their combat displays are both entertaining and educational bringing the weaponry of the dark ages to life with an enthusiasm that is empathised by the superb narration.
Professional, well organized, efficient and thorough. They are eager to accommodate our requests and give great attention to detail. When asked to provide narration for a main arena event with little or no warning they proved to be more than a match for the task.
I have worked with a number of the members of Weorod over the past 5 years and would have no hesitation in recommending them to other event organisers.
Howard Giles - EventPlan
Dear Weorod,
We were very happy with your displays. What energy and enthusiasm you all have! I would be very happy to recommend Weorod to anyone looking for a well researched, well presented display that is both entertaining and instructive. Please feel free to use the above as an attributed quote.
Brian Clake - Organiser, Odstock, Nunton & Bodenham Fête
Many thanks to Weorod for a fantastic display combining entertainment with education. The adults were enthralled and the children were amazed. Everyone learned something about our history and all enjoyed themselves at the same time. A great contribution to the QE Park Country Show.
Paul Bishopp - Woodland Crafts
On behalf of our President and Club Members but, more especially, the people that you entertained so well please accept our sincere thanks for all your efforts on Saturday 25th April at our Festival of St. George. Your performances enhanced our event and, I suppose, the best compliment we can offer is to invite you be with us again next year.
We will also recommend Weorod for any other event that we learn of that seems appropriate for your excellent group.
Reg Norton, Secretary - Crofton Lions Club
Just a quick note to thank you and your colleagues at Weorod for setting up camp in the City Museum on Friday and Saturday and for making the event such a success. We had 753 visitors over the two days, which is quite a few for a small building. I was impressed by your members’ knowledge of the period, and by the way they were able to communicate it to visitors of a wide range of ages and prior knowledge of the period. It was also good to see visitors able to have a number of opportunities to handle replica items from the Early Medieval times.
